HEALTH-E-COMMUNITY (HEC) BUILDERS MAKE IT ALL POSSIBLE
A simple decision that will lead to years of savings.
So, you’re buying a new home. If you’re like most homeowners, energy efficiency is definitely something on your mind. But how do you know that your home will be as efficient as you are told? And more importantly, how do you know it will stay that way? What if we told you that we can guarantee energy efficiency for years to come? When you participate in the Health-E-Community Efficiency Guarantee that’s exactly what you can expect. Not only will your home use less energy for heating, cooling, hot water, appliances and lights but you’ll also rest easy knowing that your family is in a healthier environment.
What is the Health-E-Community Energy Efficiency Guarantee?
*We offer a three year guarantee for heating, cooling, hot water, appliances and lights. If your energy usage over a 12 month period exceeds the guarantee HEC will pay you 100% of the difference one time within the three year guarantee.Even after the guarantee expires, the homes are designed to continue saving and producing electricity for the life of the home. Savings may fluctuate due to increased cost of electricity or your consumption demands. In the event the power grid goes down for any reason the solar home for safety reasons is shut down. This is to prevent the solar panels from sending power back into the grid.
How Do You Judge Energy Efficiency?
It’s simple. An EARTHCRAFT Rater will utilize a HERS rating scale that measures your home’s energy efficiency compared to three standard indexes; a “typical U.S. home” (rating of 130), an energy-efficient home that meets International Energy Conservation Code standards (rating of 100) and a home that produces all the energy it needs, such as a solar home (rating of 0). The Villas at Rocketts Landing Homes will have a HERS rating of less than 18. This is achieved by the use of solar panels located on the roof of your home. The solar power that is not used when power consumption is low will be sold back to the power company. This will help offset the cost of the electricity used by your home.
As an EARTHCRAFT partner you are assured that the design of your home has been reviewed and certified to have;
- An integrated systems approach
- Environmentally conscious design and construction applications
- Efficient use of natural resources: water, energy and building materials
- Utility cost savings
- Improved indoor air quality and a comfortable working environment
- Tighter building envelope and duct work (as confirmed through on‐site inspections and performance testing)
